Welcome to the new City Parks Alliance website! Over the past nine months, City Parks Alliance staff, board members, and our web firm Social Driver have worked to reimagine our digital presence to bring CPA’s mission to the forefront and better serve our members.
Onward and Upward
Our previous website was built nearly ten years ago, and so much has developed in digital technology, within our organization, and in the city parks and recreation field since its creation. We know that city parks play a vital role in the social, economic, and physical wellbeing of communities, so our vision for this new site was that it would provide greater access to information and resources for park leaders and advocates to create and sustain strong park and recreation systems.
Member Benefits at the Forefront
The new site introduces a completely new visual face of City Parks Alliance, highlighting the intersection between nature and city, injecting life and energy into our mission.
Beyond just a pretty face, the new site was also built to better serve our members and public site visitors. We’ve completely reimagined the site’s architecture and functionality to improve the user experience and help our members utilize their benefits.
1. The ParkXChange Resource Library is now easy-to-find and easy-to-search
Now present in the main menu of our website, the resource library’s clean interface features simple searching mechanisms--search by topic or type--and helpful preview thumbnails that help set clear expectations for what users will find when they click on a resource. The library is more robust than it has ever been, and we’ll be adding even more resources over the next year.
2. For the first time, memberships are manageable online, and member benefits are featured front and center.
Our brand new account page is customized for every member, who can now see their organization name, member ID, membership expiration date, and even manage designated members. Member benefits are clear and easy to access.
3. The webinar and event archive has been reorganized to showcase upcoming webinars and view past webinars.
All webinars and events are now in one place and easy to search and view. Register for an upcoming event or view past events with the quick click of a tab.
4. The job bank has been redesigned to highlight the urban park industry’s top opportunities.
Users can search the job bank to find the latest open park and recreation positions. They can click through to the page to learn more information, and contact the hiring company to apply.
5. City park reports and tools are now under one place.
Our revamped resources & tools pages prominently feature our latest research, videos, and infographics that facilitate learning and serve as advocacy tools for urban park leaders. Here users will find Active Parks, Healthy Cities, our national neighborhood research study report; our new report, Investing in Equitable Urban Park Systems, our Parks as Infrastructure video series, reports and infographics on the Land and Water Conservation Fund, neighborhood park funding strategies, and our jointly-created guide with The Trust for Public Land, The Field Guide for Parks and Creative Placemaking.
6. Explore city park and recreation case studies.
Urban parks are diverse, but they often share similar challenges and opportunities. Park and recreation professionals can learn their peers with our extensive library of case studies.
7. View the new website on any mobile device.
Last but certainly not least, the City Parks Alliance website is now viewable on any major mobile device. Users can access urban park resources, tools, and member benefits wherever they go.

We at City Parks Alliance are excited to start this next chapter in our organization’s history, leveraging digital technology to advocate for urban parks and to provide even better resources for our members, the leaders who drive to enact real change in cities.
